The advice of our Afghan NGO partners to other local organisations entering similar partnerships is clear: build trust, communicate openly, and don’t be afraid to ask questions.
The DAWAM consortium has shown that when local organisations are trusted, resourced, and included, they deliver more effective and sustainable results. While the overall experience has been empowering, there continues to be challenges and space for improvement, for example in communication and greater involvement of partners in design processes, while capacity building initiatives need to be coordinated and tailored.
After a project extension, interventions will now continue into 2027 and DAWAM plans to reach over half a million people directly in 2026. These learnings and insights will shape the next phase of the project.
You should not fear losing funding for constructively sharing your insights. Seeking clarity is professional and ensures a shared understanding. (Taiba Rahim, President of Nai Qala Association)
WE WOULD LIKE TO THANK OUR DONOR,
