Together, we’re building a world fit for children – powered by youth.
World Vision UK’s Youth Advocates play a vital role by:

Championing the rights of children and young people.

Sharing insights into the real issues affecting their lives.

Helping shape our policies, campaigns and decisions.
FOREWORD
Across every border and community, we young people are stepping forward with powerful insights, lived experience and a deep commitment to social justice. The World Vision UK Youth Advocacy Network (YAN) was created to honour and amplify our voices – not just as participants in change, but as leaders of it.
Launched in response to our recommendations during the Intergenerational Dialogue with World Vision UK leadership in 2023, the YAN brings together passionate young people aged 15–25 from across the UK and beyond. United by a shared belief in child rights, we are actively shaping the policies, campaigns and strategies that affect our lives, and the lives of millions of others.
Within World Vision UK, we are transforming how the organisation listens and responds – offering insights, challenging assumptions, informing key decisions, and making sure our realities remain at the centre of their work.
Since 2023, we have engaged directly with decision-makers – from meetings with MPs and FCDO representatives, to co-producing a call to action presented at the UK Government’s Global Food Security Summit and taking part in high-level discussions on care reform, AI and more.
In 2025, we continued our advocacy around hunger and malnutrition, co-creating NOURISH: A Global Youth School Meals Dialogue, and influencing attendees at the Nutrition for Growth Summit in Paris – ensuring young people’s experiences and hopes shape real change.
But the YAN is more than a programme. It is a movement. A community built on collaboration, support and shared purpose. A space where we feel understood and inspired to grow as advocates, changemakers, educators and future leaders.
We are most proud of what we’ve achieved together: a truly inclusive and empowering space that values knowledge, equality, personal development and impact. Through respectful co-operation, open communication and continuous education, we’ve created something powerful.
Our message is simple: young people are ready to make a change. We are already doing the work. Here’s where you come in: back us. Follow our activities. Support our initiatives. Champion youth-led advocacy not just in words, but in action.
Let this be what people remember about the Youth Advocacy Network:
- We speak for our rights.
- We are – and always will be – the voice of our peers.
- We are confronting global challenges with courage and creativity.
- We are connected, empowered and committed to change.
The YAN is proof of what happens when young people don’t just sit at the table – we help build it. The future of advocacy is here. And it is youth-led.
